Known for her bold statements, Ranaut has often clashed with Bachchan over various issues, most notably during a heated exchange about Bollywood’s internal workings. This time, however, the “Emergency” star has taken a more respectful tone.
The feud between the two actresses dates back to a public spat in which Bachchan criticised Ranaut for her outspoken comments on the film industry. The conflict escalated when Jaya Bachchan, during a parliamentary session, objected to being addressed by her husband’s name. Ranaut had previously dismissed this issue as trivial, labeling it a “petty matter.”
However, in a recent interview, Kangana surprised fans and critics alike by praising Bachchan’s contributions to the industry. When asked about Jaya Bachchan’s stance on using her husband’s name in the Parliament, Ranaut responded positively, acknowledging Bachchan’s successful career.
“Jaya Bachchan is a respected actress in our film industry. She may be known for her fiery nature, but in the 1970s, she made a film like Guddi, which promoted women’s empowerment,” Ranaut said.
The actress further added, “She represents the film industry in Parliament, and I admire that. She is among the few actresses who have truly showcased their talent over the years.”
This shift in tone from Kangana has raised eyebrows, considering her previous sharp remarks about Bachchan. It remains unclear if this new perspective signals a resolution to their ongoing feud or is merely an isolated comment.
In the meantime, Kangana’s fans are eagerly awaiting the release of her upcoming film Emergency, which was initially scheduled for release on September 6.
Despite receiving three cuts from the censor board, the film’s certification is still pending, with the case currently in court. The new release date is expected to be announced soon, as the legal process concludes.
