Actor Arshad Warsi, best known for his role in Munna Bhai MBBS, recently shared his thoughts on the evolving nature of modern relationships in an interview with Unfiltered by Samdish. Warsi voiced his concerns about the growing trend of polygamy, likening it to other “cool” yet harmful behaviors, such as smoking cigarettes.

Warsi drew a parallel between the normalisation of polygamy and the once-fashionable trend of smoking, which was later recognized for its dangers. He commented, “Unfortunately, it looks like once upon a time cigarettes were considered cool, now this is considered cool but it’s toxic. We will later realize that this is very wrong.”

The actor, who is a father of two teenagers, expressed his unease about how young people today manage their relationships. He shared an example from his own family, saying, “There is a thing which I heard my kids saying, we are not committed but we still going out. Sab chal raha hai, sab kuch ho raha hai but hum committed nahi hai. Boss, kya ho raha hai (Everything is going on, everything is happening but we are not committed. Boss, what is happening).”

Arshad Warsi also highlighted the significant influence of social media on these emerging relationship norms. He argued that the current trend of casual experimentation in relationships is being driven by online culture. “The whole thing of trying everything and then deciding, and you don’t have to do this and you don’t have to do that. Life doesn’t have to be like this. Jo harr wo cheez jo purkho ke zamaane se chali aa rahi hai, humare maa-baap ne sikhayi hai, jo norm lagta hai, wo saari cheeze galat hai. This is purely social media (Everything that has been coming from the times of our ancestors, that our parents have taught us, that seems to be the norm, all those things are wrong).”

Work Front

On the professional front, Arshad Warsi is set to return to the big screen in Jolly LLB 3, where he will reunite with Akshay Kumar. Additionally, he is slated to appear in Welcome to the Jungle.
