Bollywood actress Ananya Panday, in a candid conversation, opened up about her struggles with expressing emotions and the importance of stepping away from distressing situations. During an interaction with filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane, Panday reflected on how she handles moments when she feels down or upset.
“I find it tough to express myself,” Ananya Panday, revealed in a discussion with Motwane, known for his directorial work in the upcoming thriller CTRL. The conversation, hosted by YouTube platform We Are Yuvaa, covered a range of topics, including their careers, love lives, and mental health. In one segment, Panday chose a card that required her to explain how she manages her emotions during difficult times.
“I start crying immediately,” the Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan actress confessed, explaining why she often finds it hard to express herself when feeling low. Panday shared that stepping away from a tense situation, though difficult, often proves to be the best course of action. “In the moment, I want everything solved, so I hate stepping away. But every time I’ve done it, things end up better. So, I should be doing that more often,” she added.
Motwane, reflecting on his own approach, echoed the importance of taking a pause. “My instinct is to get nasty or find fault,” he admitted. To avoid acting on impulse, the filmmaker said he prefers to take a walk, read, or watch something to help clear his mind before addressing any issues.
As Panday promotes CTRL, a film that critiques the darker side of social media, she acknowledged the toll the platform can take on mental health. In an interview with PTI, the Gehraiyaan actress revealed her thoughts on stepping back from the digital world. “I’ve been posting a lot lately because I want people to watch the film. But I think I’m going to take a much-needed digital detox because social media does affect your mental health,” she shared.
On the work front, Panday is currently filming her next project, Shankara, while continuing to explore new aspects of her personal and professional life.
