Actor Adah Sharma has recently found herself in the spotlight after moving into the late Sushant Singh Rajput’s Mumbai apartment, where the actor was tragically found dead in June 2020. The decision has drawn criticism, with some accusing her of using Sushant’s name for publicity. In an interview with India Today, Adah addressed the backlash and shared her perspective on the matter.

Reflecting on the criticism, Adah stated, “As an actor, or even as a person, you cannot react to everything that’s been said. We all have a lot of things to do in life. Also, this is a free country, and everyone has the right to have an opinion. If they feel about something, they should… and continue to do so.”

She emphasized that her actions were not intended to seek validation or approval from others. “I am not here to tell anyone ‘I am a good person’ or give them reasons for my actions. I did what I had to do, and I know myself. And just like I don’t want anyone to change for me, I would also not change myself. I am really all settled in the house, and I really love the place,” she explained.

Adah Shared Her Reasons

Earlier this year, Adah shared her reasons for relocating to Sushant’s former residence, located in the Mont Blanc Apartments in Bandra. “I moved into the flat four months ago… I have lived in the same house at Pali Hill all my life, and this is the first time I’ve moved out of there. I’m very sensitive to vibes, and this place gives me positive ones,” she told Bombay Times. Adah also expressed her desire for a home surrounded by nature, noting, “Our homes in Kerala and Mumbai have been surrounded by trees, and we used to feed birds and squirrels. So, I wanted a home with a view and ample space to feed birds.”

Reports suggest that Adah purchased the duplex flat in August 2023, which spans over 3,600 square feet and features a spacious lower hall and three bedrooms upstairs. Sushant had rented the apartment for ₹4.5 lakh per month starting in December 2019. Despite the controversy surrounding her move, Adah remains committed to her decision, asserting her right to create a positive living environment for herself.
