Rahul Bhatt Compares Alia to Sister Pooja: ‘Alia Is Not Even Half of What Pooja Is… She’s Like Paani Kam Chai’
In an interview, Alia Bhatt’s brother, Rahul Bhatt, remarked that Alia isn’t even half the person their sister Pooja Bhatt is. He further added that it was Pooja who truly carried forward their father Mahesh Bhatt’s legacy. Alia Bhatt, daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, has carved a remarkable place for herself in the film industry since her debut. With numerous acclaimed performances and a National Film Award to her name, she is now considered one of the highest-paid and most talented actresses in Bollywood. However, her half-brother Rahul Bhatt holds a different opinion, he believes Alia doesn’t quite measure up to their elder sister, Pooja Bhatt, calling her “paani kam chai” in comparison.
Rahul Bhatt, son of director Mahesh Bhatt and Kiran Bhatt, and brother to actress-producer Pooja Bhatt, is also the stepbrother of actress Alia Bhatt. Recently, he sat down for an exclusive interview with Hindi Rush, where he opened up about his bond with both his sisters. While speaking about Alia, the Bollywood fitness trainer remarked that she possesses both talent and the support of the universe. Additionally, she has a strong grasp of public relations. “She has everything, and when you have everything, the universe conspires, and the rest is history,” Rahul expressed.
However, he mentioned that she doesn’t come close to matching the talent of his sister, Pooja. Speaking to the publication, Mahesh and Kiran’s son shared, “In my opinion, she is not even half of what my real sister Pooja is, not in talent, not in looks, not in terms of being sexy. In front of my sister, she is ‘paani kam chai (not as good)’. This is my personal opinion. If you ask, amongst all our siblings, who is the most talented, the most moralistic, it is Pooja.”
Speaking about carrying forward the legacy of their father, director-producer Mahesh Bhatt, he said, “Pooja is the true inheritor to take the legacy of my father ahead. I saw her in her stardom. She was the biggest sex symbol of the country at that time,” Rahul Bhatt exclaimed. He went on to talk about his relationship with the Student of the Year debutant, mentioning that they share a good rapport. The star kid also emphasized that he doesn’t take anything for granted. “She is a mother now. She is very successful, and one can’t just pick up the phone and say ‘I am coming to meet you’. I never shared that with anybody. I like to maintain a certain protocol.” He also expressed his happiness for Alia, saying she found the right partner in Ranbir Kapoor. “She is a good mother, and she is taking care of my other stepsister, Shaheen Bhatt, very well, which I respect more,” concluded Rahul.
