Rising star Triptii Dimri, who gained widespread recognition following her role in the blockbuster Animal (2023), has opened up about her struggles and triumphs in the film industry. In a candid interview on Katrina Kaif’s Kay Beauty YouTube channel, Dimri shared the challenges she faced after moving from Delhi to Mumbai, navigating personal and professional criticism along the way.

Dimri, originally from Uttarakhand but raised in Delhi, spoke about the difficulties she encountered after entering the film industry. “It was difficult for me when I moved to Bombay,” she recalled. “People in society, even within my family, said mean things to my parents. They questioned my decision to pursue acting, saying things like, ‘She’s going to get spoiled’ or ‘She’ll never get married.'”

Despite these remarks, Dimri remained committed to her dreams. “There was a point when I was confused,” she admitted. “You lose hope when there’s no work, but I knew I couldn’t go back to my parents and tell them I hadn’t made it.” She also shared a touching moment after the release of her debut film Laila Majnu (2018), when her father called her expressing how proud he was.

Earlier this year, Dimri’s fame surged after her role in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal, leading to her being dubbed India’s “national crush.” When asked about the label at a recent event in Mumbai, Dimri expressed her gratitude for the recognition. “Luckily, in my experience, it’s been the other way around. I’ve always received love from the audience for my work, whether it was from my earlier films or the recent ones,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Dimri emphasized that she always wanted her work to speak for itself. “Initially, when I came into the industry, I wanted people to talk about my work and nothing else. I’ve been fortunate that when my films have released, people have done just that.”

Triptii Dimri’s career has seen a steady rise with roles in critically acclaimed films such as Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, and Qala. Her portrayal of Zoya in Animal has cemented her status as a promising talent in Bollywood. She was last seen alongside Vicky Kaushal in Bad Newz.
