Neha Dhupia is one of the boldest celebrities in Bollywood, the diva had surprised the world by suddenly tying the knot with actor Angad Bedi. However, as the years passed and the couple unfolded their love story they made us believe in the saying that what is meant for you will always find its way. In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Neha bares her heart out and disclosed everything about their fairytale love story. “He tells me that he first saw me at the gym when I was 20, told his friends, ‘I’m going to get to know her one day.’ When we moved to Bombay, we met at a mutual friend’s party–it was just us standing on the balcony. I saw a different side of him–beyond the jokes and wit, there was a sensitive man,” she said.
Neha further described how both were living away from home and used to miss the home-cooked food specially Angad. “He lived a bachelor life and the one place he could always get home food was mine. We became close friends. There was no façade and no attempt to impress one another. Well, no attempts on my part. In fact, he was the first call after a major heartbreak, and he talked me through it. I’m sure there was a hidden motive!” she added.
Soon after Angad proposed to Neha which she wasn’t expecting at all, “He wasn’t low key about his feelings for me. I was shooting in Punjab and told him about a role for him. He didn’t ask for any details. He only cared about spending time with me and flew down immediately. After that shoot, he showed up at my parents’ doorstep and asked for my hand in marriage. I had no idea about it! This was when I was dating someone else. When Angad met my boyfriend, he was nice to him, but wasn’t subtle about his love for me,” She said.
When Angad approached Neha Dhupia’s parents the actress was already three months pregnant. This didn’t go well with the family and Angad was scolded badly. Neha Dhupia’s mother had a nose bleed with stress. Well! Whatever happened in the past the couple’s love story is no less than an adventurous ride. However, currently, Neha and Angad are blessed with a baby girl name Meher and are expecting their second child soon.
