Throwback Video: When Rani Called Now Enemy Aishwarya Rai Her Friend Forever

Bollywood is one industry where cannot be friends with everyone that easily. But if you have any friends, they definitely become very close to you and you should take all the measures to not let that relationship go soar. However, there have been many friendships in Bollywood that have seen a sour end due to reason unexplainable. One such friendship is of Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukherjee.

Although it is believed that two actresses cannot be friends in the Bollywood industry, Rani Mukherjee and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan proved it wrong with their strong bond. They were very close and seemed to be best friends until an incident changed it forever. And before we talk about the reason for that split, we have a gem of a throwback video that will show how close Rani and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were before the tiff.

 

In this video, you can see Rani giving a message to Aishwarya Rai on the show Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai. Apparently, Rani was supposed to be there with Aishwarya but couldn’t reach due to her ill-health. Rani can be heard saying that she loves Aishwarya too much and would be her friend forever. She said, “Aishu Maa, you know I love you. I am really sorry I couldn’t come for the show because I am unwell. As you know, I am always unwell, I couldn’t make it to Delhi. Just to let you know that I love you, you mean a lot to me. I just love you Aishu Maa. I just want to say one thing, that we are going to be friends forever. I love you.”

Coming back to the cause of their split, it happened on the sets of the movie Chalte Chalte. It so happened that Aishwarya Rai was the lead in the movie Chalte Chalte opposite Shahrukh Khan. However, in her personal life, she had just broken up with Salman and he did all in his might to win her back. On the sets of the movie, Salman created a chaos with his violent behavior due to which the makers decided to replace Aishwarya. However, what pinched Aishwarya Rai the most was that her own best friend Rani Mukherjee agreed to replace her.

Later, Rani and Abhishek had delivered some huge hits and rumours were rife that the duo would soon settle down in real life as well. However, things changed and Aishwarya replaced Rani in real-life and became the Bachchan bahu.

Rani was also upset over the fact that she didn’t get an invite for the wedding from her ‘once favourites’. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she had shared, “Only Abhishek can throw light on that. The truth is that if a person chooses not to invite you to their wedding, you realise where you stand with the person. You may be deluded and think you are friends but maybe the friendship was only restricted to being co-stars on the sets.”
