Bollywood actor Kajol made headlines at the press conference and trailer launch of her upcoming film Do Patti on Monday with a playful dig at her husband, Ajay Devgn. While Do Patti has its own buzz, Kajol took the opportunity to reference the popularity of Ajay’s iconic character Singham, created by filmmaker Rohit Shetty.
Kajol Claims She’s the “Real Singham”
During the event, Kajol, dressed in a striking red outfit, fielded questions about her upcoming role as a police officer in Do Patti. When asked about the revival of the Singham character in Singham Again, Kajol gave a witty response. She quipped, “I have said this on every stage before, and I’ll say it again — the real Singham is…” then humorously pointed to herself.
The playful jab was met with laughter and applause from the audience, as well as from her Do Patti co-stars Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh, who were present at the event. Kajol’s lighthearted comment stole the show, even as excitement for Do Patti mounted.
Kajol Praises Co-star Kriti Sanon
Kajol, known for her candid nature, didn’t shy away from showering praise on her co-star Kriti Sanon, who plays a double role in the film. Speaking about their collaboration, Kajol said, “Kriti has grown beautifully as an actress. I’ve worked with her before in Dilwale, and it’s been years since then. She has evolved so much and looked completely different on the sets of Do Patti.”
Kriti, dressed in a blue outfit, entered the event alongside Kajol, creating a buzz among fans and the media. The actress will portray twin sisters in Do Patti, a challenging role that further highlights her acting range.
Shaheer Sheikh’s Film Debut
In addition to Kajol and Kriti Sanon, the film will feature popular TV actor Shaheer Sheikh, who is making his film debut with Do Patti. Best known for his work on television, Sheikh’s transition to the big screen has been eagerly awaited by fans.
Do Patti, a thriller set to release on Netflix, will premiere on October 25, 2024. The film’s unique storyline and powerhouse cast have generated significant excitement, promising a riveting viewing experience for audiences.
