The First Look Of Vicky Kaushal’s Next Movie Is Out And He Is Acing Another Army Officer’s Look!

Seems like Vicky Kaushal is extremely inspired by army officers as his upcoming movie is based on the life of India’s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. The actor took to Instagram to reveal the first look of the movie and fans are going crazy over his unrecognisable avatar!

Playing an important part in the Indo-Pak War in 1971, Sam Manekshaw has been engraved into the history of India. Yet untitled, this film with Vicky as the protagonist, will bring the life of this honourable army officer, on the big screen.

While captioning the picture, Vicky Kaushal wrote, “I feel honoured, emotional and proud of getting a chance to unfold the journey of this fearless patriot, the swashbuckling general, the first Field Marshal of India- SAM MANEKSHAW. Remembering him on his death anniversary today and embracing the new beginnings with @meghnagulzar and #RonnieScrewvala”

Meghna Gulzar, who is the director of this movie, spoke to a leading daily about this film. She said, “We wanted to finish the edit on the draft first before reaching out to an actor. One day, I just called up Vicky, who happened to be nearby, and invited him over for a cold coffee. We had a conversation about Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. He was about to fly to the US and said that he doesn’t want to read the script and would just do the film. But I insisted that he read it and call me.”

Vicky Kaushal seemed pretty enthralled with the character of Sam Manekshaw. He shared, “I personally couldn’t witness his achievements, but my parents would always tell me that he was a fearless patriot with an amazing leadership quality. The first time I’d heard of him was in the context of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.”

This film isn’t considerably said to be a biopic as per the makers. Meghna Gulzar, while highlighting the statement, shared, “Ours is not a biopic, because it does not chronologically just record Sam Manekshaw’s life. We need to make an interesting narrative when telling a story by picking out the most crucial, iconic and relevant incidents of his life, giving a view of the soldier, the man, and the Field Marshal.”

The film will begin shooting in the early 2021 as it needs to cover different narratives for the story. Let’s see how this another Meghna-Vicky project turns out to be!
