The upcoming film “Deadpool & Wolverine” promises to feature a variety of Deadpool variants from across the multiverse, but one character is particularly generating excitement online. It’s not Dogpool or Headpool, but rather Lady Deadpool, also known as Wanda Wilson.

Speculation began in earnest following a trailer released in June 2024. At the thirty-second mark, the clip showed a pair of legs in a suit remarkably similar to Deadpool’s, while the titular character, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, says in a voiceover, “I’m about to lose everything that I’ve ever cared about.”

The final trailer, released just ahead of the film’s premiere on July 26, 2024, further fueled the rumors. It featured a mysterious figure with blonde hair donning a red and black suit identical to Deadpool’s, intensifying whispers that this could be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s introduction of Lady Deadpool.

Adding to the intrigue is the possibility of Blake Lively, Reynolds’ wife, portraying Lady Deadpool. Theories gained momentum following the initial leg reveal, and with the subsequent appearance of blonde hair in the final trailer, fans have more reason to suspect that the “Gossip Girl” alum might be stepping into the role. However, another fan theory soaring in popularity suggests that Lady Deadpool could be played by none other than pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Swift, a close friend of Reynolds and Lively, was seen with Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy at an NFL game in October 2023, sparking further speculation. The excitement around Swift’s potential involvement was further heightened when a photo of her dressed as Deadpool resurfaced. The picture, showing Swift in the iconic suit borrowed from Reynolds for Halloween, combined with Reynolds’ admiration for the singer, has led fans to believe that a cameo by Swift might indeed be on the horizon.

However, an Entertainment Tonight report dampened these rumors, citing Swift’s busy schedule with her Eras Tour, making it unlikely for her to shoot for Marvel.

Director Shawn Levy, while not confirming or denying the rumors, added to the mystery. Speaking to The Wrap, he said, “That’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”

With the film’s release imminent, fans are eagerly awaiting to see if Lady Deadpool makes her debut and if Swift, Lively, or another star will don the red and black suit.
