As Stree 2 continues its triumphant run at the box office, actor Rajkummar Rao delighted fans by sharing a glimpse of a deleted scene from the film, which he revealed to be his favorite moment. In a social media post, Rao posted images from the scene, showing him dressed in a shimmery mini skirt, a red top, and heels, complete with a wig. Another image featured him alongside the film’s director, Amar Kaushik.
Rao captioned the post, “#Stree2 One of my favourite and funniest scenes from the film which didn’t make it to the Final Cut. Kya aap log dekhna chahte hain ye scene film mein? Aap sab batao?” (Do you want to see this scene in the film? Let me know!).
Meanwhile, Stree 2 continues to dominate the box office. On its 12th day of release, the horror-comedy raked in ₹17 crore, bringing its total earnings to an impressive ₹401.55 crore. The film is now approaching the ₹450-crore mark. According to Sacnilk, the film saw a 29.02 percent occupancy in Hindi-language theaters on its second Monday, August 26.
Stree 2 is the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, which also starred Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The sequel features a stellar cast, including Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Vijay Raaz, each delivering strong performances that have contributed to the film’s overwhelming success.
Bollywood trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh shared insights on the film’s performance on X (formerly Twitter). He noted that the Janmashtami holiday is expected to further boost the film’s box office numbers. “BLOCKBUSTER SUNDAY – STREE 2 JOINS ₹400 CR CLUB… Stree 2 RUNS RIOT on [second] Sunday… Urban centres are performing exceptionally well, but it’s the mass pockets that are truly in a league of their own… The holiday on [second] Monday [Janmashtami] is expected to further bolster its prospects,” Adarsh wrote.
Stree 2 was released on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day. The film faced competition from John Abraham’s Vedaa and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein. Despite the box office clash, Stree 2 has emerged as a clear favorite among audiences.
