As anticipation builds for the release of Stree 2, the cast arrived in Delhi on Wednesday to kick off a high-energy promotional tour. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan, the sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy Stree promises another round of laughter and chills.
During a press conference, the team offered insights into the film and shared personal encounters with the supernatural. Rajkummar Rao, reprising his role as Vicky, humorously noted, “In Stree, we had our share of spooky experiences. However, in Stree 2, the fun has taken center stage. I’d like to think that even the ghosts are fans of our film, so we wouldn’t want to scare them away!”
Aparshakti Khurana, who returns as Bittu, added a personal twist by recounting a chilling encounter from his days living in Delhi. “Once, while returning from Gurgaon around 3-3:30 AM, I saw something truly unsettling near the GK1-GK2 flyover. I even took a U-turn to check, but when I looked back, it was gone,” he recalled.
Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Jaana, also shared his thoughts, further contributing to the eerie atmosphere of the event. The cast’s stories added to the excitement surrounding the film’s latest song release, Khoobsurat.
The song features Shraddha Kapoor alongside Rajkummar Rao and Varun Dhawan in a playful romantic performance. The track’s mix of romance and drama provides a fitting prelude to the film’s storyline.
The recently released trailer introduces a new villain, ‘Sarkata’, who poses a fresh threat to the women of Chanderi. Vicky is now portrayed as a princely hero ready to combat this new menace, promising a blend of spooky thrills and comedic twists.
The trailer also features Tamannaah Bhatia in a show-stopping cameo, performing in a high-energy dance number titled Aaj Ki Raat, composed by Sachin-Jigar. Fans of the original Stree are eagerly awaiting the sequel, which hits theaters on August 15, 2024. Stree 2 promises another thrilling dive into a world where horror and humor are intertwined.
