In a delightful revelation, actress Shraddha Kapoor recently shared a childhood memory involving her co-star Varun Dhawan during a podcast with Shubankar Mishra on his YouTube channel.

Kapoor, who appears alongside Dhawan in the recently released Stree 2, recounted how she once proposed to the actor when they were both just eight years old.

During the podcast, Kapoor reminisced about the lighthearted moment, which took place while they accompanied their fathers on a film shoot. “It’s an old story that a lot of people know,” Shraddha began. “Varun rejected my proposal. It’s funny to think about now. We were kids, and I had a small crush on him. While playing on a mountaintop, I told him, ‘Varun, I’m going to say something in reverse, and you’ll have to figure it out.’ Then I said, ‘You love I.’ He responded, ‘I don’t like girls,’ and ran away.”

The anecdote has charmed fans, adding a touch of nostalgia to their on-screen pairing in Stree 2, where Dhawan made a special appearance as Bhediya, his character from the film of the same name. The crossover between the two horror-comedies has sparked excitement among audiences, who have praised Dhawan’s cameo in the sequel.

Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan have previously shared the screen in dance-centric films ABCD 2 and Street Dancer 3D, both directed by Remo D’Souza. Their chemistry has been widely appreciated, and their collaboration in Stree 2 has only heightened fans’ hopes for more crossovers between the Bhediya and Stree franchises. The duo also gained attention for their performances in the promotional song “Khoobsurat,” a romantic track from Stree 2.

Stree 2, which released on August 15, features an ensemble cast including Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi. The film also boasts special appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia and Akshay Kumar, further raising expectations for the much-anticipated sequel.
