Bollywood actor John Abraham has long been known for his disciplined approach to health and fitness, often promoting the importance of exercise and sports as key components of a healthy lifestyle. Recently, he voiced strong criticism against celebrities who endorse paan masala brands, calling it an endorsement of harmful products that can lead to severe health issues.

In a candid conversation on Ranveer Allahabadia’s podcast, hosted on YouTube, John Abraham did not hold back as he expressed his disapproval of fellow actors who lend their faces to paan masala advertisements. Without naming names, Abraham emphasized that his stance was not a personal attack on his colleagues but rather a matter of principle.

“If I live my life with honesty and practice what I preach, then I’m a role model. But if I present a fake version of myself in public while behaving differently in private, people will notice,” said Abraham, stressing the importance of integrity.

He further elaborated on his disdain for such endorsements, stating, “People talk about fitness, and then the same people endorse paan masala. I love all my actor friends and I’m not disrespecting any of them. I want to make it clear that I’m talking about myself. But I will not sell death because it’s a matter of principle. Do you know that the yearly turnover for the paan masala industry is ₹45,000 crore? Which means that even the government is supporting it, and that’s why it isn’t illegal. You’re selling death. How can you live with it?”

This pointed commentary comes after actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar faced backlash for their involvement in paan masala advertisements, with Kumar later announcing his decision to step away from such endorsements.
