Recent rumours suggesting that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will reprise his beloved role as Chulbul Pandey from the Dabangg series in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film Singham Returns have been firmly dismissed by a close friend of the actor.
The speculation gained traction online, with various sources hinting at a crossover between the two popular franchises. However, a source close to Salman Khan stated, “Where did that come from? Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey in Singham Returns sounds like someone’s idea of click-baiting. There is ABSOLUTELY no truth to it.”
The source elaborated that Singham and Dabangg are fundamentally different in tone and narrative, stating, “Singham is far removed from Dabangg. For now, Salman is done with Chulbul Pandey and Dabangg. He is not doing the fourth part of Dabangg unless he finds the right script and director.”
Adding to the clarification, the source mentioned that Prabhu Deva, who directed Dabangg 3, has declined the opportunity to continue the franchise, leaving Salman Khan with no current plans to revisit the character of Chulbul Pandey. “So, where and why would Salman play Chulbul Pandey in someone else’s franchise? This is one of the funniest rumours in recent times,” the source concluded.
While Singham Returns is set to feature other stars from Rohit Shetty’s police universe alongside Ajay Devgn, it appears that Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey will not be part of the ensemble. Fans will need to wait and see how the film unfolds, but the crossover many are hoping for will not materialize.
As both Dabangg and Singham continue to hold a special place in the hearts of fans, the distinction between the two franchises remains intact. With Salman Khan focusing on finding the right project for his return to the character, the future of Dabangg 4 remains uncertain, while Singham Returns gears up for its release.
As always, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for official announcements regarding both beloved franchises.
