Saif Ali Khan Buys Second Home In Qatar, Calls It ‘Very Safe’ After Knife Attack

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan recently shared that he has invested in a lavish property at The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, located in The Pearl, Doha, Qatar. Speaking at a press conference organized by the Alfardan Group, the actor discussed what attracted him to the opulent residence.

Saif Ali Khan revealed about his decision to buy a residence in Qatar

During the conversation, he shared how the country gave him a sense of safety and belonging, all while being close to his homeland, India. The actor also expressed his joy about living at the property, saying: “Think of a holiday home or a second home. There are a few things that come to mind. One is that it’s not very far away and it’s easily accessible.

Additionally, the most important thing is that it’s very safe and it feels very good to be there. And the concept of an island within an island is also very luxurious and beautiful, and it’s just a really lovely place to live. And the feeling you get when you’re there is the important thing, and the views, and the food, and the kind of lifestyle, and the pace of living, and these are a few of the things that led to my decision.”

Saif Ali Khan said what prompted him to buy a house in Doha

During the same conversation, Saif Ali Khan described Doha as his “home away from home.” He shared that during a work-related stay at the property, he was struck by its perfect balance of privacy and luxury. He mentioned how peaceful the place felt and expressed his excitement about bringing his family there, particularly his sons, Taimur and Jeh. He stated:

“I had gone there to do some work, and I was shooting for something, and I stayed at the property, and I thought it was amazing, and there was something about the mixture of privacy and luxury that I really liked. And again, it was things like food and the way the menu was curated, as well as various other aspects. In a nutshell, it literally felt like home away from home, which made it very easy. The main thing really is that it’s peaceful and secluded if that’s the kind of thing you are looking for.”

Saif Ali Khan stabbing incident 

On January 16, 2025, Saif Ali Khan was stabbed during the early hours of the morning inside the presumed safety of his own home. The suspect, Shehzad, had reportedly broken in with the intention of committing a robbery. During the intrusion, Saif confronted him and sustained multiple injuries, including trauma to his thoracic spine and other parts of his body. He was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he received treatment over the course of five days before being discharged.

Saif Ali Khan is all set to star in his upcoming thriller Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, premiering on Netflix on April 25, 2025. The film also features Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta in key roles. A teaser, released in February 2025, gave audiences a sneak peek into the action-packed storyline, where Saif and Jaideep characters team up to steal the legendary African Red Sun diamond.
