Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, known for her role in Jalebi, recently opened up about the trying period in her life when she was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). In a candid conversation with Humans of Bombay, Rhea shared how the experience revealed the true nature of her friendships and the deep support her friends provided to her family during her incarceration.

Rhea recalled the difficult time she spent in jail and how it made her realize who her genuine friends were. She spoke about how her friends stepped in to support her parents, particularly her father, during what was an emotionally challenging period for them.

“One of my friends—or a couple of them—would visit my dad every night, drink with him, and have dinner together,” Rhea shared, highlighting the unique ways her friends tried to maintain a sense of normalcy for her parents while she was behind bars. She recounted a light-hearted moment after her release, where she noticed some of her friends had gained weight. “I told them, ‘I was in jail, and you were out here eating and putting on weight!’” Rhea said, reflecting on the irony of the situation.

 

Her friends explained that their intention was to encourage her parents to eat and find some comfort during those difficult days. This act of solidarity left a lasting impression on Rhea, who was deeply touched by the lengths her friends went to ensure her parents felt supported.

Rhea further discussed how the unwavering support from her friends played a crucial role in helping her family navigate the emotional turmoil they faced. Their efforts not only helped her parents cope but also reinforced the strength of the bonds she shared with her closest friends.
