In a recent interview, actor Ranvir Shorey opened up about his unexpected journey as a contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss OTT 3. Shorey, who had never watched a full episode of the series before his participation, shared his insights during a conversation with fellow comedian and former contestant Cyrus Broacha.
Describing his time on the show as a “once in a lifetime experience,” Shorey admitted he entered the house without fully grasping what lay ahead. “I went inside not knowing fully what I was getting myself into,” he reflected, noting that the true impact of the experience only dawned on him after he left.
Shorey expressed concern over the prevailing stereotype surrounding Bigg Boss, which often emphasises confrontation and conflict among contestants. “I just felt like the people coming in and those watching have made a stereotype of the show. That you have to come there and fight,” he stated, using colourful language to underscore his point.
Throughout his time on the show, Shorey observed frequent and seemingly unprovoked arguments among contestants. Initially, he chose to ignore the drama, but after sustaining a physical injury during a task, he felt compelled to stand up for himself. “It was at this point that I decided to give back to the contestants who were nasty to me,” he recounted.
The actor emphasised that contestants do not need to engage in conflict to succeed on the show. “I quickly realised that you don’t have to fight to be on Bigg Boss,” he said, adding that many participants overreact due to assumptions about how they should behave on camera. “Don’t feel the pressure of the TV show. That’s their problem; the guy running the show will figure out what to put. Don’t feel the pressure that are 200 cameras on me and I am not doing anything,” he advised.
Interestingly, Shorey revealed that he has not watched Bigg Boss since his participation. “I can’t sit through an entire episode. I don’t have the patience for it,” he confessed, indicating that his experience in the house has been sufficient for him.
As “Bigg Boss OTT 3” continues to capture viewers’ attention, Shorey’s reflections provide a unique perspective on the realities of life inside the iconic house, challenging the notion that drama is the only path to success on reality television.
