Rakul Preet Singh, who has made her mark in both Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema, is set to reprise her role in De De Pyaar De 2 alongside Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan. Known for her work in films like De De Pyaar De, Runway 34, Doctor G, and Thank God, Rakul recently spoke about the challenges she has faced in her career, including the effects of nepotism, during an appearance on The Ranveer Show.
In the interview, Rakul addressed the topic of nepotism in Bollywood, acknowledging that she has lost out on film roles but chooses not to harbor any bitterness about it. Reflecting on her mindset, Rakul shared an experience from her family life, recalling how her father would talk about his time in the army when she initially expressed interest in joining the military. “I don’t think too much about nepotism. Yes, it happens. I’ve lost films, but I’m not the kind of person who becomes bitter. Maybe those projects just weren’t meant for me,” she explained.
The actress, who starred in Chhatriwali and Doctor G, emphasised that losing opportunities is part of life and personal growth. Rakul used an analogy from the medical profession to illustrate her point, saying, “If a doctor doesn’t make it to the board and someone else does, that’s just how life works.” Her remarks suggest that she views setbacks as a normal part of any career, choosing instead to focus on resilience and growth.
Rakul also spoke candidly about her perspective on helping future generations, particularly her own children. She expressed that if her children needed support, she would not hesitate to help them, acknowledging that parents often want to provide the best for their kids. “If a star kid has easy access to the industry, it’s because their parents have worked hard to build that path,” she said, recognizing the privileges that come with having connections in the film industry.
Looking ahead, Rakul is gearing up for her next project, De De Pyaar De 2, with filming reportedly taking place in Punjab. Fans of the 33-year-old actress are eagerly awaiting her return to the screen, as she continues to balance her work across multiple film industries.
