Priyanka Chopra faced severe backlash for stating that she had not seen “RRR,” a film by SS Rajamouli. Priyanka Chopra, a global icon, is currently taking over the news with her unvarnished personality. PeeCee received vicious trolling a few days ago for referring to SS Rajamouli’s RRR as a “Tamil film” rather than a “Telugu film.” The actress did, however, host the US premiere of RRR for the uninitiated. Priyanka Chopra was once again the focus of trolls after a tape from Vanity Fair that she was heard stating she didn’t watch the movie went viral online.

Priyanka Chopra said she didn’t watch RRR

On Reddit, a Vanity Fair video with Priyanka Chopra was posted. In the video, PeeCee was questioned about her viewing of RRR. When asked why she didn’t see it, Priyanka was heard responding that she didn’t have much time. The actress added that while she often does not see many films, she does watch a number of TV episodes. PeeCee disclosed: “No! I just didn’t get time. I don’t watch a lot of movies, but I watch a lot of TV shows.”

In response to the video, one user commented, “Wait but didn’t she hold a screening? How is this physically possible.” Another comment can be read as “Exactly how I feel about her. I try so hard to root for her but when she opens her mouth I cringe so hard and crawl back into my shell.” An internet user took to the comment section and wrote, “How do you host a screening of the movie and not watch it? No wonder she called it a Tamil movie.” Check out the comments:

When Priyanka Chopra called RRR a Tamil film instead of a Telugu film

Armchair Expert Priyanka Chopra discussed SS Rajamouli’s film, RRR, on Dax Shepherd’s podcast, where she made the error of referring to it as a Tamil movie rather than a Telugu one. In the programme, Dax Shepherd was heard equating Bollywood with Hollywood in the 1950s, when there were just a handful of potent studios. PeeCee claimed that Bollywood had undergone a significant transition, with mainstream action, love, and dancing now being present. Dax then brought up the film RRR. Following that, Priyanka said: “That’s a ‘Tamil’ movie by the way…It’s like big, mega, blockbuster Tamil which does all of those… it’s like our Avengers.”

Priyanka Chopra faced severe wrath after labelling RRR a Tamil movie in error. She had already discussed the same in an interview with Mid-Day. The actress claimed that everyone makes errors, and she believes that people enjoy it. PeeCee revealed that she used to be a free spirit but that she is now more cautious because she has a family. According to Priyanka Chopra:

“People try to find a mistake in anything I do. I think people enjoy that a little bit. I was a lot more free-spirited, but now, I am a bit more cautious because I have my family to think about. The higher you go in life, the more people look for a reason for you to fall. But at the same time, I have so much love and support from my family, friends and fans. I prefer to focus on that.”
