Actress Janhvi Kapoor opened up about the unique cultural dynamics between her parents, late actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, during her appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show. In a heartwarming and lighthearted moment, Janhvi shared how her parents blended their North and South Indian backgrounds, highlighting the ways in which they embraced each other’s traditions.

While discussing her family’s cultural mix on the show, Janhvi humorously recalled how her father, Boney Kapoor, who hails from North India, had fully embraced South Indian customs thanks to her mother, Sridevi. “Papa had already converted,” Janhvi said with a smile. “He would have idli sambar for breakfast instead of aloo parathas.”

Janhvi added that this cultural exchange wasn’t one-sided. She shared that her mother, Sridevi, originally from Tamil Nadu, had also picked up habits from her father’s North Indian roots. “By the end of it, Mom started fighting like a North Indian,” she joked, offering a glimpse into the couple’s bond, which blended their traditions seamlessly.

Sridevi, a legendary actress in both Bollywood and South Indian cinema, passed away in 2018, leaving behind a lasting legacy. Janhvi’s anecdote on the show was a touching reflection on her parents’ ability to adapt to each other’s cultures, and the love and respect they had for one another.

The episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show featuring Janhvi, along with her Devara co-stars Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan, will be available to stream on Netflix this Saturday.
