In the past few years, many celebrities across the country have used ‘surrogacy’ to become parents. The term came into the news when the biggest star in Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan welcomed his third child Abram Via surrogacy. After which a lot of stars including Karan Johar and Priyanka Chopra have welcomed their babies through Surrogacy. The latest couple to join the list is south superstar Nayanthara and director Vignesh.
The duo got married to each other earlier this year and was in a relationship for almost five years. Nayanthara and Vignesh recently announced the biggest news via their social media handle. The director announced that the couple has become parents. “Nayan & Me have become Amma & Appa. We are blessed with Twin Baby Boys,” he wrote. The couple also dropped pictures with their babies as they kiss their tiny feet.
However, now there are reports that the couple might have violated a surrogacy rule. The couple currently is under the scanner of the state’s health department. Tamil Nadu’s health ministry has assured proper investigation.
According to the rules, people who are of age 21 and are under 36 can donate oocytes (ova or eggs). The ministry is presuming that this could have been done keeping the norms in mind. “Director of health services will be asked to examine if it was done according to norms,” said MA Subramanian, State health minister.
For the unversed, the couple tied the knot in June this year. The wedding was attended by the biggest stars in the entertainment industry in India. The actress Nayanthara will now be working with Shah Rukh Khan in her upcoming film ‘Atlee’.
