Mira Kapoor Expressed Regret Over Her Previous Comments On Working Women, Said A Lot Of People Were Hurt

Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Kapoor was heavily criticised in 2017 when she made a comment about working women. Mira said that her daughter is not a “puppy” and questioned why women would want to have kids if they can’t spend time with them. Now, Mira has said in an interview that one of the biggest misconceptions that she had was that she looked down on working women, and has also expressed regret over her previous comments.

Recently, in an interview, Mira said that at that time she felt like she was pushed into a corner as people were questioning why an educated woman like her chose to be a stay-at-home mother. Mira felt this thinking was wrong and said that at that time she wanted to give time to her children.

She said, “I think I probably did my part by saying something like that… I don’t think I agree with them now. I think I have come a long way from that.” Mira admitted that her comments were not liked for some reason, and said, “I can understand why it was not taken well. I think I was in a vulnerable and emotional state. I think I was just trying to defend myself that my choices are okay too.” Mira expressed regret for whatever she said and said that it had hurt a lot of people.
