Malaika Arora, who has maintained a low profile on social media since the tragic death of her stepfather, Anil Mehta, made her first appearance on Tuesday. While the actor didn’t share the update herself, fans were quick to notice her presence in a video posted by hairstylist Amit Yashwant on Instagram.

In the brief clip, Malaika is seen sitting at a salon, getting a trim from Amit. The video shows her in front of a mirror as Amit adjusts her hair. Towards the end of the video, Malaika makes eye contact with the camera, winks, and blows a kiss. The lighthearted moment marked her first public appearance since her family’s personal tragedy. Amit captioned the video, “Hair for @malaikaaroraofficial. Hair cut with me. Colour @nitinn_084.”

Malaika’s Step-Father’s Passing
Malaika’s stepfather, Anil Mehta, passed away on September 11 in Mumbai. According to police reports, Anil died by suicide at his Bandra residence. An investigation into the circumstances of his death is currently underway.
Following the tragedy, Malaika issued a heartfelt statement requesting privacy during this difficult time. “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time,” her statement read.
Anil Mehta was laid to rest later that week at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai. Several members of the film industry attended the funeral to offer their condolences and support to Malaika and her family.
This marked Malaika’s first public interaction since the tragic loss, with fans expressing relief and offering continued support for the actor.
