There has been a controversy between the two ace Bollywood directors Madhur Bhandarkar and Karan Johar. The two had been in the limelight over a title row. It was believed that both Madhur and Karan had agreed to let Madhur use a title that Karan used for his upcoming Netflix series. The Fashion director Madhur Bhandarkar had a complaint that Karan Johar used a title for his series that Madhur Bhandarkar had already registered. Now Karan Johar had taken to his social media to apologize to his colleague Madhur Bhandarkar for taking the title and even said that he has tweaked the title. Now, Madhur Bhandarkar has finally responded on the apology.
Madhur expressed being upset that this time around he expected the same from KJo, but Karan took it ahead despite the rejection. He wrote in his note to Karan, “Dear @KaranJohar. Thank you for your response. This is indeed a close-knit industry and it operates on mutual trust and respect. When we blatantly disregard norms that we ourselves have established, then it makes very little sense calling ourselves a ‘fraternity’.” Continuing further he gave out the deets of the film which KJo has asked from him in the past.
He further wrote, “I didn’t hesitate a moment in the past before granting you the title “GUTKA” in 2013, that you had requested from me, and hence I would have expected the same courtesy in return when I declined you the use of a title I had duly registered, and which I did not intend to part with. The fact that you went ahead and used the title anyway despite our conversation and despite it also having been rejected by the trade associations, is what had upset me deeply.”
