‘I Dress Up For Myself’: Wamiqa Gabbi Shares Fresh Outlook On Airport-Look Culture

In an era dominated by paparazzi culture and relentless social media scrutiny, many celebrities feel compelled to maintain a polished appearance, even at airports. However, actress Wamiqa Gabbi is challenging this norm with her refreshing approach to fashion.

“I don’t take airport-look pressure. I dress up for myself,” Wamiqa told ANI. “Earlier, I used to feel that good clothes are meant for good days only but life is too short. I dress up for myself. I will dress up every day if I want to. There’s no pressure as such, nobody should take the pressure. It’s nonsense.”

Showstopper In India Couture Week 2024

Wamiqa made headlines on Wednesday as she walked as a showstopper for renowned designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla on the first day of India Couture Week 2024 at Taj Palace, Delhi.

She opened the show in an exquisite ivory trail lehenga from the ‘Botanical Bloom’ line, featuring intricate Resham embroidery with ivory silk threads, highlighted with pearls and crystals. She later closed the show as a regal bride, dazzling the audience in a red lehenga from the ‘Bridal Gota’ collection, meticulously handcrafted with Gota, Zardozi, and encrusted with crystals. This event marked Wamiqa’s debut on the runway, adding another feather to her cap.

Reflecting on her first ramp walk, Wamiqa said, “I never imagined that my first ramp walk would be for Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. It was like a dream. I was scared before hitting the ramp but once I entered the stage everything went well.”

As she continues to redefine fashion norms and make strides in her career, Wamiqa remains an inspiring figure, challenging societal pressures and embracing authenticity.
