Recently, she sat down for an interview with the ETimes and revealed the deets from the case and the reason for her disappearance from the industry.
Rimi Sen left the industry because she was tired of being typecast
Rimi Sen initially starred in several successful Bollywood films alongside famous stars. However, her career hit a rock after several flops, and she disappeared from films. Now, Rimi revealed that she was tired of being typecast in comedy films where she didn’t have any significant role. Rimi said: “Main comedy films kar kar ke thak gayi thi, there used to be not much of a role for me there. Mera sirf furniture role hota tha. I had a good role in only a few, like Hungama and Johnny Gaddaar (2007)The latter didn’t work, and that’s the kind of work I wanted to do.”
In her earlier statement, Rimi said she did not enjoy the frame. Her life had become monotonous while working in the industry. At the same time, she didn’t enjoy the attention she received as an actress, and that continues to date. Rimi added that she prefers being aloof. In her stint on reality TV show, Bigg Boss in 2015, the actress had shared that she wasn’t much of a talkative person and preferred staying quiet.
Rimi shares that she is not in contact with anyone from the Hindi film industry
Rimi shared the screen space with Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn among others. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, she was asked if she had been in contact with any of the actors she worked with while being away from the big screen. However, the actress admitted that she is not in contact with anyone from Bollywood. In her words: “I am not. I can’t ask anyone for help. Jab tak gidgidao nahin, help nahin milti hai. Why won’t other people look for their own benefit? Why will someone go out of their way to help someone?”
