Actor Kritika Kamra has called on men to take a proactive role in addressing sexism, stressing that men bear significant responsibility in challenging and dismantling harmful attitudes. Kamra emphasized the need for men to call out sexist behaviours in male-dominated spaces, during her appearance at Prime Video’s Maitri: Female First Collective.

Kamra, known for her roles in television, films, and OTT platforms, highlighted the importance of holding each other accountable in informal settings where sexist comments or jokes often go unchecked.

The Actor’s Perspective

Speaking passionately on the topic, Kamra said, “It’s up to men to call out sexism, objectification, and vulgar jokes in their male-only spaces—whether it’s in the locker room, casual banter, or in their perceptions of women on and off the screen. That’s where change can begin.”

She further explained that a key step in fighting sexism is for men to confront such behaviour within their circles. “There’s a fine line between a compliment and objectification,” Kamra remarked. “If men can call out their friends without hesitation, it would make a real difference.”

She continues to expand her horizons, venturing into new roles across television, OTT, and films.
