National Award-winning director Hansal Mehta has taken to social media to express his frustration with government officials over the delayed Aadhaar registration for his daughter, Kimaya Mehta. The acclaimed filmmaker shared his ordeal on his X account, detailing multiple unsuccessful visits to the Aadhaar office in Andheri East.

In his recent post, Mehta wrote, “My daughter has been trying to apply for an Aadhaar card for the past three weeks. She makes the long trek to the Aadhaar office in Andheri East, braving rains, going early enough, and the senior manager there keeps sending her back on some pretext or the other. Get this signed, get this document, the stamp is not in the correct place, you don’t have an appointment today, I am on leave for a week… This is most frustrating and nothing short of harassment.” The director also tagged the official X accounts of the Unique Identification Authority of India and Aadhaar in his post.

Mehta’s post quickly drew reactions from users. One commenter referenced Mehta’s popular show “Scam 1992,” stating, “She needs to comply with the documents! Yaha koi scam nahi hai Mehta ji (No scam works here)!” Mehta responded sharply, “Really? Get the govt official to put his stamp slightly higher is a compliance parameter? Stop this BS.”

Another user remarked, “Common man life is always cumbersome because of the corrupt ecosystem but you are a powerful man, don’t know what is the issue here.” Mehta replied, “I am not a powerful man FYI. I am a common middle-class citizen of this country. I deserve to be treated better.”

Hansal Mehta has recently supported his son’s debut OTT show, “Lootere.” Additionally, his upcoming directorial feature, “The Buckingham Murders,” starring Kareena Kapoor as a detective, is slated for a September release.
