Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, renowned for her beauty and acting prowess, continues to shine as a global icon in the entertainment industry. With a remarkable career spanning over two decades, she has garnered a dedicated fanbase worldwide, solidifying her status as one of the most admired stars in the world.

Recently, former UK Prime Minister David Cameron expressed his admiration for Aishwarya during the NDTV World Summit, highlighting her influence even beyond Indian cinema. When asked about his favourite Bollywood film, Cameron revealed that Devdas holds a special place in his heart. “I had the great pleasure of meeting Aishwarya Rai when I was Prime Minister, and I liked the film called Devdas. I am a big admirer of hers and that extraordinary Bollywood family,” he stated.

In Devdas, released in 2002 and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aishwarya portrayed the character of Paro alongside Bollywood stalwarts Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit. The film is considered a classic and contributed significantly to Aishwarya’s acclaim in the industry.

Cameron also shared his thoughts on the film Hotel Mumbai, directed by Anthony Maras, which he described as providing a “harrowing portrayal of the terrible events” surrounding the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai. He emphasised the importance of acknowledging the ongoing struggles against extremist terrorism, stating, “Despite ongoing conflicts in places like Ukraine and the Middle East, there remains a challenge in defeating extremist Islamic terrorism, which impacts both my country and others.” Cameron stressed the need to remember the many lives lost to these issues.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan first gained international recognition when she was crowned Miss World in 1994. Since then, she has starred in several memorable films, including Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Guru, Guzaarish, Jodhaa Akbar, Mohabbatein, Raincoat, Bride & Prejudice, and Chokher Bali.

The actress remains a prominent figure at various international events, frequently gracing the Cannes Film Festival and Paris Fashion Week. Most recently, she appeared in Ponniyin Selvan: II, where she showcased her versatility by playing dual roles as Nandini and her mother, Mandakini Devi.

With her blend of talent, beauty, and international appeal, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continues to enchant audiences and maintain her status as a true global diva.
