Esha Deol, known for her roles in movies like “Dhoom,” spoke about the kiss between Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi in an interview with Zoom. She said, “There shouldn’t be any age barrier for love or kissing—who decided that? He’s really cool! He’s very handsome. Dad, by nature, is a romantic person; he enjoys reciting his shayari (poetry) and everything. He has always been that way. Shabana Ji is fantastic, and I have a great fondness for Jaya Aunty. Karan Johar has done an amazing job; the scene was shot beautifully, and everyone involved is professional actor.”
Esha was also asked if she had seen the movie herself. To this, Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s daughter replied, “No. There were many parts I couldn’t watch as if I were in the audience because I am his daughter. There were many emotional scenes, and it wasn’t easy, but I wanted to watch the film.”
Dharmendra’s Playful Reaction to the Kiss Scene
Dharmendra, known for his charm and humor, responded playfully to the attention surrounding his kiss scene. He humorously said, “I’ve been receiving messages that Dharam ji, you’ve done this and that. I told them, ‘No, this is the work of my right hand.’ If they want me to do something with my left hand, I can do that too. And Karan Johar told me to remain the way I am. I have many good stories.”
