Actor Shreyas Talpade recently became the subject of a false death rumour that spread rapidly across social media, leaving his fans in shock and disbelief. The baseless post, which falsely claimed the actor had passed away, was widely reshared, prompting Talpade to issue a public statement to clarify the situation and address the distress caused by the rumour.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Talpade reassured his followers, stating, “I am alive, happy, and healthy.” He expressed gratitude to his friends and well-wishers who reached out to him after encountering the fake news. However, he also criticized the trolls responsible for spreading the false information, highlighting the harmful impact such actions can have. “While I understand that humour has its place, when it’s misused, it can cause real harm,” Talpade wrote.

The actor further elaborated on the emotional toll the rumour has taken on his family, particularly his young daughter. Talpade, who suffered a heart attack in December 2023, shared that the false news heightened his daughter’s existing anxiety about his health. “This false news only deepens her fears, forcing her to confront more questions from her peers and teachers, stirring up emotions that we’ve been trying to manage as a family,” he explained.

Talpade concluded his post with a plea for sensitivity and responsibility on social media, urging people to stop spreading false information. “To the trolls, I have a simple request: please stop. Don’t joke around at the cost of others, and don’t do this to anyone else. I wouldn’t want anything like this to happen to you ever, so please be sensitive. Chasing engagement and likes should never come at the expense of others’ feelings,” he emphasized.

As the rumour circulated, many netizens turned to Google to verify the claims. According to search trends, queries related to Shreyas Talpade’s well-being peaked between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Monday, with most searches originating from Maharashtra, the actor’s home state. Other regions with high search activity included Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Goa, and Gujarat.

In December 2023, Talpade suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. Reflecting on the ordeal, the actor described his recovery as a “second chance at life” and a “miracle.” His wife, Deepti, later expressed her gratitude to the doctors, fans, and well-wishers for their support during the challenging time.
