Television actress Dalljiet Kaur has been in the spotlight since her separation from her second husband, Nikhil Patel. The couple’s relationship has been marred by mutual accusations, leading them to pursue legal action. In an exclusive interview, Kaur addressed claims that her actions were merely a ploy for attention, particularly about her participation in Bigg Boss 18.
Kaur expressed disbelief at the notion that she would “ruin” her life for a reality show she had already appeared on. “I find it funny that people think I would destroy my life just to go on Bigg Boss,” she said. “Did you forget that I already went there? I’m a good actor. I could cry or scream anywhere, but I’ve never revealed personal details about my life. If I ever did, it would be by mistake.”
The actress, known for her role in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, emphasized that if she had wanted to create drama for publicity, she had ample opportunity during her time on Bigg Boss 13. “I stayed quiet there too,” she stated. “I had a golden opportunity to share my struggles, especially with friends like Arti Singh and Rashami Desai around. Back then, no one knew how successful Bigg Boss 13 would become. I could have easily turned my pain into a storyline.”
Dalljiet Kaur also reflected on her time in the Bigg Boss house, where she received praise from host Salman Khan for her conduct as a single mother. “I want to raise my child with the right examples,” she explained. “I don’t want to name anyone, but my son has seen and heard everything. If I tell him to say something nice about someone, he might say it, but you can see he doesn’t mean it. You can’t teach an 8- or 9-year-old to hide their true feelings; he knows too much.”
Kaur lamented the impact of her public struggles on her son, acknowledging that he has witnessed events that no child should have to endure. “It’s sad that I can’t protect him from these realities,” she said. “He doesn’t deserve to deal with this.”
As Kaur navigates her challenges, her focus remains on providing a nurturing and honest environment for her child, emphasizing the importance of integrity over fame.
