Margot Robbie, the Academy Award-nominated actress known for her roles in “Barbie” and “The Suicide Squad,” is reportedly expecting her first child with husband Tom Ackerley. The news follows the release of photos showing Robbie vacationing in Italy, which sparked rumours of a baby bump. Multiple sources have since confirmed the pregnancy to People magazine, though the couple has not yet addressed the reports publicly.
Robbie and Ackerley, who tied the knot in 2016 during an intimate ceremony in Byron Bay, Australia, have always maintained a private relationship. The pair met in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama “Suite Française,” and their friendship soon blossomed into romance. They co-founded the production company LuckyChap, responsible for several high-profile films, including the recent hit “Barbie.”
Recently, the couple was spotted enjoying a romantic boat ride on Lake Como, Italy. Photos obtained by the Daily Mail show Robbie flaunting her baby bump in a white crop top paired with an oversized blazer and low-rise black pants. She accessorized her look with a cream purse and gold earrings. Meanwhile, Ackerley opted for a more casual look, wearing a beige shirt and brown pants. The filmmaker was seen attentively assisting his pregnant wife onto the yacht as they enjoyed the scenic ride.
In a 2016 Vogue interview, Robbie described her relationship with Ackerley as a delightful surprise, playfully referring to him as “the best-looking guy in London.” Reflecting on their bond, she shared how their friendship naturally evolved into a romance. “I was the ultimate single gal. The idea of relationships made me want to vomit. And then this crept up on me. We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back.’ And then it happened, and I was like, ‘Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.'”
Ackerley, in a previous interview with the Sunday Times, highlighted the seamless nature of their relationship. “We spend 24 hours a day together. It’s seamless. We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing,” he said.
As fans eagerly await official confirmation, the news of Robbie’s pregnancy has added another layer of joy to the couple’s already-celebrated union.
