As the controversy involving Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi continues to unfold, an old video of actor Vivek Oberoi praising the Bishnoi community has resurfaced on social media. The video, originally recorded at an event in Dubai in February last year, has gained traction in light of the current tensions.

In the clip, Vivek speaks fondly of the Bishnoi community, stating in Hindi, “Try looking up the Bishnoi community on Google. You won’t find a scene like that across the world. In every household, including mine, we feed cow’s milk to kids. There’s only one community in the whole world – the Bishnoi community – where if a fawn’s mother dies, the Bishnoi mothers take it in their laps and feed them milk like they feed their kids. You won’t find this anywhere else in the world.” This heartfelt tribute has led to mixed reactions on social media, with some users highlighting the irony of his comments given the ongoing situation. One user remarked, “Dushman Ka Dushman Lawrence Ka Dost (An enemy of his enemy is Lawrence’s friend),” while another suggested, “He’s adding fuel to the fire.”

Salman Khan-Vivek Oberoi History

The resurfacing of this video is particularly notable due to Vivek’s complicated history with Salman Khan. In 2003, during a press conference, Vivek accused Salman of threatening him over his relationship with actress Aishwarya Rai, who had a tumultuous breakup with the Bollywood superstar. Reflecting on the incident two decades later, Vivek shared in an interview with Hindustan Times, “In hindsight, I went through a lot of stuff that was unnecessary. A lot of lobbies, a lot of repressive stories.”

The ongoing feud between Salman and Lawrence Bishnoi has also intensified in recent days, especially following the assassination of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was known to be close to Salman. The Mumbai Police suspect that Siddique was killed at the behest of Bishnoi, following a Facebook post that ominously warned those who assist Salman and the Dawood Ibrahim gang to “keep your accounts in order.” This post was allegedly made by Shubuu Lonkar, believed to be affiliated with Bishnoi’s gang.

Lawrence’s animosity towards Salman dates back to the actor’s infamous blackbuck poaching case in 1998, which angered the Bishnoi community known for its reverence for the animal. Meanwhile, Vivek Oberoi has been focusing on his career, recently appearing in Rohit Shetty’s cop procedural *Indian Police Force* on Prime Video, while Salman is currently busy shooting for the reality show *Bigg Boss 18* and his upcoming film, *Sikandar*.
