Rapper DDG and actress Halle Bailey are parting ways, as announced by DDG in an Instagram story on Thursday, October 3. The 26-year-old artist shared the news with a heartfelt message, stating, “After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared.”
The couple went public with their relationship in January 2022. In September of that year, Bailey expressed her admiration for Black creators on YouTube, naming DDG as one of her inspirations. During a cover story interview with Essence, Bailey revealed that she had almost forgotten about DDG until his music caught her attention again. “Coincidentally, he messaged me—and the rest is history,” she recalled.
In late 2023, the pair welcomed their son, Halo, and announced his birth in January. They later shared his face with fans in July, showcasing their journey into parenthood.

In the same month, Bailey opened up on Snapchat about her struggles with postpartum depression, revealing the emotional challenges of being a new mother. She admitted to experiencing panic attacks when separated from her baby for more than 30 minutes and expressed how deeply she feels for her son, often crying at the sight of him.
Interestingly, just a week prior to the breakup announcement, the pair was spotted together at Usher’s Past Present Future Tour in Los Angeles, making the news of their separation all the more surprising to fans.
