On July 19, 2021, Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Police for his alleged involvement in making pornographic movies and publishing them through some apps. Raj Kundra was arrested along with 11 other people but the 45-year-old businessman is said to be the key conspirator.
Confirming Raj Kundra’s arrest, Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale said, “There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr. Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this.”
According to reports, “Raj, who has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays), was taken for medical examination after his arrest. He will be produced before the 37th Esplanade metropolitan magistrate’s court on July 20, 2021”.
It was in February 2021 when the racket publishing pornographic content with Raj Kundra’s alleged involvement was busted. A woman had approached Mumbai Police with the allegations on Raj for luring men and women with the pretext of giving them work in web series and instead, forcing them to act in adult movies.
