Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has long been known for his interesting dynamics with co-stars, both on and off-screen. Recently, veteran actor Aasif Sheikh opened up about one such off-screen adventure involving Salman’s driving during the filming of Bandhan (1998). Aasif, who has shared screen space with Salman in numerous films, spoke about the incident in an interview with The Lallantop.

The Rash Driving Incident

Aasif Sheikh vividly recalled how Salman’s rash driving once landed them in a tricky situation with the traffic police. “We were young then, and Salman had an Esteem car,” Aasif recounted. “He made me sit next to him, and then he started driving recklessly—on the footpath, on the road. I said, ‘Salman, pakde jayenge (we will get caught).’ But Salman, ever the daredevil, brushed off my concerns, saying, ‘Pakde jayenge toh yaar Salman Khan hain ghabrao mat (Even if we get caught, don’t worry, you’re with Salman Khan).’”

As it turned out, they were caught by the traffic police, but there was a humorous twist. “Salman rolled down the window, but the officer didn’t recognise him,” Aasif added. “He said, ‘Isne toh pehchana nahi (He didn’t recognise me).’ I joked, ‘Shirt utaar shayad pehchan le (Take off your shirt, maybe he’ll recognise you then),’ referring to Salman’s iconic shirtless moments on screen.”
