Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s tattoos hold the painful memories of her relationship with her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya
For those unfamiliar, Samantha already had three tattoos when a fan asked if she planned to get more. Although the actress didn’t explain her sudden disinterest in tattoos, many understood the unspoken reason. Each tattoo likely served as a painful reminder of her failed marriage to her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya, since they had originally been inspired by her love for him.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s first tattoo, located on the nape of her neck, reads “YMC,” a reference to Ye Maaya Chesave, the 2010 film where she made her acting debut alongside Naga Chaitanya. Later, she and her then-husband, Naga Chaitanya, got matching tattoos on their forearms. They were often spotted wearing the same Viking symbol, featuring two crossed arrows.
Samantha got her third tattoo on her rib, the most straightforward of all her ink, featuring the word “Chay” a nickname for Naga Chaitanya. She first revealed the tattoo in a 2019 Instagram post, where she tagged Naga and affectionately referred to him as her husband and her world. However, following their separation, it’s speculated that Samantha had the tattoo removed, as it has not been visible in her photos since 2023.
