Rhea Chakraborty was arrested in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput. She was the alleged girlfriend of the late actor and the two were living together. However, just a few days before the death of Sushant, the two apparently broke up and she left his house. She was also alleged to be feeding drugs to Sushant in hiding. The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested her around a month back and now she finally been granted bail.
After completing a month in Byculla Jail, Rhea was granted bail this morning, by Bombay High Court. Rhea, house manager Samuel Miranda and staff Dipesh Sawant were granted bail, while actress’ brother Showik and drug peddler Abdul Basit Parishar’s bail plea got rejected. Reportedly, Bombay High Court has put some conditions on Rhea Chakraborty’s release before granting her bail. As per a report published in NDTV, Rhea will have to mark her attendance for 10 days in the nearest police station. After release, she should deposit her passport and should not travel outside the country without the prior permission of the High Court or the court.
The report further states that if Rhea Chakraborty plans to leave Mumbai, she’ll have to inform her investigating officer. Also, Rhea has to pay a surety of Rs 1 Lac. On the other hand, Rhea’s lawyer Satish has sought time to furnish the amount of bail bond.
Republic quotes Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde saying, “We are Delighted by the Order of the Honourable Bombay High Court granting bail to Rhea Chakraborty. Truth and Justice have prevailed and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal. The arrest and custody of Rhea was totally unwarranted and beyond the reach of law. The hounding and witch hunt by three central agencies .. the CBI , ED and NCB of Rhea should come to an end. We remain committed to Truth. Satyamev Jayate ”
